This ambitious disc attempts to unravel some of the most complex scientific questions, wrapping the answers in a candy coating of animation, video and a cute interface. The Big Bang theory, quantum mechanics and (gasp!) the nature of reality are all presented in a simple yet entertaining way, although newcomers to multimedia may find the ad hoc menu and obscure navigation a little confusing. Nearly 400 photos, 40 animations and video interviews with Nobel prizewinners and top physicists emphasise the titleΓÇÖs serious credentials, as do the interactive experiments and comprehensive bibliography.
